Festina
Lente

Latin. “Make haste slowly.”

The phrase was a personal maxim of the Emperor Augustus, who believed that the surest path to lasting achievement was disciplined, unhurried deliberation — not the absence of urgency, but its careful direction.

In the Renaissance, the Venetian printer Aldus Manutius adopted it as his device: an anchor entwined with a dolphin — anchored to purpose, swift in execution. It became the mark of work built to endure.
